Taste, Clarity, and the Work of Finishing

A personal reflection on why good taste is often less about aesthetics and more about knowing when something is finally coherent.

Finishing something well usually requires a second kind of judgment.

The first kind helps us get to a working version. The second helps us notice what still feels unresolved, uneven, or louder than it needs to be.

That second layer is where taste starts to matter. Not as decoration, but as discernment.
